Botanical Garden- A Must Visit
The place where plants are grown and exhibited mainly for technical and educational reasons is known as a botanical garden. Herein a wide collection of plants is grown outdoors, in a greenhouse or a conservative. It has an assortment of dried plants also known as a herbarium. It provides facilities such as a lecture room, library, research plantings, laboratories and also museums.

The layout of the botanical garden may be based on the sections of botanical science. The arrangement may also vary. It can be according to the plant categorization (systematic) or by relation to surroundings (ecological) or by origin (geographic).

In the U.S. there are more than 300 botanical gardens some of which are quite popular with the people. The Missouri Botanic Gardens (1859) in Saint Louis, the New York Botanical Garden (1895) in Bronx Park and the Arnold Arboretum at Harvard University are few of the well known botanical gardens.

Here, the species of all plant types are creatively exhibited and you would be marveled to watch the unimaginative amount of labor put behind these gardens. The various processes of care and maintenance for botanical garden include- designing with plants for a natural effect, pruning trees and taking care of the shrubs and bushes.

Before the seeds are sown, the gardener has to be vigilant about the place where they should be sown. He has to put in a lot of hard work, skill set and creativity, and a sense of decorum to grow the botanical garden in an appealing order. Therefore, it requires a lot of patience to rear up this garden.

Hard landscaping is an important aspect of botanical garden and it calls for great amount of efforts and planning. Clear shapes and lines in the botanical garden are hard to maintain as bushes often blur the angularity. The bushes have to be reared carefully so that the neatness and pattern of the garden can be upheld.

This will add to the natural dimension of the garden imparting a natural touch to it. Design and nature should join hands to make the garden look attrative.

The process of pruning is very essential and should be done judiciously. It should not distort the natural look of the plant. The cuts which shorten the branches should be avoided. Also, the cuts which disrupt the direction of growth of the plant should be avoided.

Thus, bringing up a botanical garden is no simpler than bringing up a child who needs to be shaped at every point.

These gardens demand a lot of care and maintenance. Its nurturing is an essential aspect and is the sole factor which contributes to the beauty and aesthetics of the garden.
